Women’s choices not the same as men’s

This article by women in the Financial Post of Canada really annoys me.  It completely misses the point that the rules by which people are employed and judged are still mostly designed to the specs of men with wives at home.  Women don’t want to necessarily be judged the same as men but they do want the chance to be judged by their results and talent, not by assumptions of how work gets done and how all careers should look.  This article could have easily be written 25 years ago before we understood the cultural and structural impediments to women’s success, especially when they are mothers.  This is not about whining and playing the victim, it is about getting a true level playing field.
