Navigating the New Role Reversal
by Fran Sussner RodgersMarch 23, 2011
We seem to be seeing more writings from men and women where the man is home with children and the woman works. This is a “blip” statistically but I am guessing that these anecdotes will translate into real numbers eventually. I am curious about the underlying assumption in this and other writings that one parent should be home full time with a young child. Are younger parents rejecting day care because they can’t find or afford it or don’t trust it or because they believe that a parent home full-time is the only way to go?
